The Werner Writing Resident (WWR or Resident) is an accomplished author who is intrigued with the relationships between humans and nature and whose published work centers around the wild outdoor world. The WWR lives in the Wallowa country for at least two weeks. Much or all of that time will be spent in a remote location to facilitate a connection with the environment and encourage place-based writing The Resident may choose the time of year to reside in northeastern Oregon. Some have chosen to participate in Summer Fishtrap’s remote Outpost workshop and attend the Gathering at Wallowa Lake but other timing and arrangements are possible. Fishtrap provides appropriate accommodations.
